How Our Tools Work (No Data Sent)
All tools on password.switchfirewall.com run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. This means:
- Password Generator — passwords are generated on your device using
crypto.getRandomValues(). No password ever reaches our servers. - Data Breach Checker — we use the HaveIBeenPwned k-anonymity API. Only the first 5 characters of your password's SHA-1 hash are sent to the API. Your actual password and full hash are never transmitted.
- Strength Checker — analysis is performed locally using the zxcvbn library. No password data leaves your device.
- PIN & Passphrase Generator — all generation is local, using cryptographically secure browser APIs.
We cannot see, store, or access any password, PIN, or passphrase you generate or check on our site.
